Google Ads Inside AI Answers: What Changes for Ebook Sellers | EbookGPT
Google started testing ads inside AI answers and migrated legacy dynamic campaigns to AI Max. Here is what changes for people who sell ebooks online today.

If you sell ebooks, one change from 2026 is worth understanding: Google started testing ads inside the answers its own AI writes in Search, and retired the old dynamic campaign model. Your ad now competes for a place inside an answer, not only inside a list of links.
For ebook sellers, the question stopped being which keyword to buy and became which answer your book deserves to appear in.

The magnifying glass in the GIF sums up the new Search: someone looks for something and inspects it closely before deciding.
Ads that answer, not just ads that appear
At Google Marketing Live 2026, Google introduced ads in AI Mode. They are formats built into the AI generated response, always labeled as ads, with a stated goal: explaining why that product is the best answer to the person's question. The technical base is AI Max and Performance Max, Google's two AI driven campaign systems.
AI Max, which turned one year old in April 2026, expanded into Shopping campaigns and travel formats, added AI Brief so advertisers can steer messaging in their own words, and now supports mandatory text disclaimers in final URL expansion. In August the company added multi campaign A/B testing for Search and the Performance Planner.
The practical consequence is straightforward. Search became conversational, and the system decides more on its own: which parts of your site become ad text, which page receives the click and how your product is described to the person who asked.
When the ad becomes part of the answer, whoever explains better before the click wins the slot.
Where your ad can show up now
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Ad inside an AI generated answer | In testing, always labeled |
| Ads above and below AI summaries | Available |
| Automatic migration of legacy dynamic campaigns | From September 2026 |
| Initial AI Brief language | English, expansion planned |
| Mandatory text disclaimers in URL expansion | Already supported |
Note: these items come from Google's official announcements during 2026 and describe platform features, not a forecast of results for a specific book.
What the mandatory migration asks of you
In April 2026, Google announced that campaigns using Dynamic Search Ads, automatically created assets and campaign level broad match would migrate to AI Max on their own starting in September. After that, new DSA campaigns could no longer be created in Google Ads, Google Ads Editor or the API. All three AI Max features, search term matching, text customization and final URL expansion, now run behind your ad.
That means your sales page became part of the creative. If it answers the reader's question above the fold, promises something specific and explains what the ebook delivers, automation works in your favor on every new query. If it is generic, the system spreads the same vagueness to more people, with more budget.
The same holds for the book itself. An ebook with a clear table of contents, a specific promise and a concrete description gives the system the material to connect the right search with the right page. EbookGPT helps at exactly that stage: organizing the briefing, chapters, cover, description and supporting assets before you spend on media.
For this week:
- Rewrite the top of your sales page so it answers the reader's main question in one sentence.
- Update your AI Max text guidelines with the book's promise, the audience and what you do not want shown.
- Review final URL expansion and block the pages that should not receive paid clicks.
- Check the ebook description in every store where it is published.
- Run one small, comparable test before raising the budget.

A well organized page gives the AI the material it needs to connect the question with the book.
The turning point is not Google's automation, it is the clarity of what you publish on the page that receives the click.
Key point
Ads inside the answer reward whoever writes the right answer. Start with the book page, not with the budget.
The next step for your ad
Pick an ebook with a promise you can explain easily and rewrite your sales page in one sentence.
Organize briefing, description and cover in EbookGPT before turning the campaign on.
Raise the budget only after that: automation optimizes whatever the page explains.
After publishing
